A BRIEF HISTORY

Since the beginning of the 16th. century beautiful items of oriental works of art have arrived in Europe. These where eagerly sort by the wealthy to decorate the 'great houses' of Europe. From massive porcelain vases to extensive dinner services, to miniture items for the 'dolls house'. Porcelain was just the beginning. There followed, carved and inlaid exotic hardwood furniture, desirable objects in mother-of-pearl, bronze, cloisonne, enamel, carved and inlaid lacquer, ivory, silver, jade, glass, silk and numerous other skilfully worked raw materials.

I am a collector of oriental antiques, now after a number of years I am disposing of some of my collection. I try to offer my items at a reasonable price, and to maintain a reputation of honest trading. My customers include leading institutions, for example, The British Museum.

All my items have been sourced in Europe & UK, are mostly in original condition and any repairs or restoration will be stated. I can offer a selection of items manufactured in China, Japan and the far east from the 1st millennium BC through to the 20th century AD.
