An early 19th.Century Satsuma type vase, decorated with panels, painted with a bird on rockwork within a floral setting, and to the reverse a mountainous landscape with buildings. All painted in black,green and brown enamels on a richly gilt geometric ground. Ornate rope-twist and leaf handles. This vase has had its neck reduced and a bronze mounted rim fitted to mouth. Some slight chips and hairline cracks to handle, otherwise in good condition. (This vase could have been made in China for the Japanese market) 34.5cm (13.75in) high.
